The SSO program provides nutritious meals to children in the local community during the summer when schools are closed and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program are not in operation.

Any child from ages 1-18 are eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. Individuals age 19 and above, who have been determined to be mentally or physically disabled by a state or local agency, may also be served a meal.

The SSO will offer meals from Monday, June 6, 2018 through Thursday, July 8, 2018 at the Hempstead Elementary Cafeteria, the Bobcat Den (Hempstead High School/Middle School cafeteria) and the STEM Program at the Early Childhood Center.

Meals will be served Monday through Thursday during that period.  Breakfast will be served from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
