Thomas plans to join the Tigers upon graduation this year to play football under Coach Scott Highsmith.

Family, friends, coaches, teachers, and administrators were on hand to show support for Thomas at the signing that took place during the NCAA National Football Signing Day in the HHS Competition Gym at Hempstead High School. Fellow teammates and classmates were also on hand to witness the event and show their support.

Prior to his signing, Head Football Coach Royce Hill recognized Thomas as a true testament of overcoming adversity. “This young man has been through a lot his senior year, battled through an injury and now he is sitting behind the table ready to sign,” said Coach Hill. “This is a testament of his work ethic and I can truly say there is probably no one that will out work this young man and that is going to take him a long way in life.”

Thomas thanked his family and his coaches for all their support in taking him to workouts, sending him to camps and pushing him to get better.

Just a couple of highlights from his high school football career include: 1st Team All-district Defensive End his junior and senior year. Thomas also earned Academic All-District honors during the past two seasons.

Thomas plans to study business management while at ETBU.
