As a new teacher of the month at Hempstead ISD, she received a #risktaker t-shirt donated by MaBisha Stubblefield (Bisha’s Bling), a Mary Kay gift bag donated by Jackie Craver and a certificate to display in her room.

“I am honored to be thought of so highly by my peers and superiors,” said Berryman. “I enjoy teaching in Hempstead because I have such a great support system.”

Berryman is a new teacher at Hempstead Elementary who currently teaches 4th grade. “Ms. Berryman is a strong ELAR teacher,” said Melissa Skinner, HISD Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “She uses a variety of instructional strategies to scaffold learning so that all students will be successful. She leads and collaborates with a positive attitude. ”

Berryman, originally from Longview ISD, has worked in Bryan and Navasota. She earned her Bachelor’s from the University of Texas at Tyler and her Masters of Education from Grand Canyon University. “We are very thankful she joined our team,” said Skinner
