The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR™)
replaced the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) in Spring 2012.
In grades 3-8, grade-specific (STAAR) assessments are given.
At high school, end-of-course (EOC) assessments are given.
