The Hempstead Color Guard earned 2nd place in the Flag Rifle division at the MA National Dance and Marching Auxiliary competition held on Saturday, March 25, in Fort Worth. “We are very proud of the color guard program at Hempstead High School as we have placed at national for the past three years and have placed in a larger division each year,” said Director of Bands Ronald A. Walker, Sr.

The routine performed was choreographed by Color Guard Coach Kaylyn Contreras. Contreras, a current member of the Blinn College Color Guard team, was a member of the 2015 HHS Color Guard team that placed at Nationals and coach for teams that placed at Nationals the past two years.
