All teachers K-12 enjoyed their last day of inservice and professional development off campus on Friday, August 23, at the Hempstead First Baptist Church - South Campus.

Carol Salva presented a language rich interactive class that is in line with the school district’s focus for 2019-2020.  The class worked out of the book “7 Steps to a Language-Rich Interactive Classroom” and studied researched based strategies for engaging ALL students in the classroom.  Salva, the author of the book “Boosting Achievement” works for Seidlitz Education.

The staff at Hempstead ISD returned to work on Monday, August 12.  During the two weeks prior to students returning, the staff has had the opportunity to enrich their teaching skills with various on-site professional development sessions offered by the district.

The staff ended the week excited to be at Hempstead ISD and looking forward to a great school year with our students, our parents, our staff and our community.  Hempstead ISD...One Town...One Team... One Goal!
