In honor of Grandparents Day on Sunday, September 8, Hempstead ISD welcomed grandparents to have lunch with students on Friday and Monday. SFE, Southwest Foodservice Excellence, prepared a special meal for the occasion and served over 200 extra meals to the guests.
Hempstead Elementary welcomed grandparents on Friday, September 6, and had over 150 guests during the K-5 grade lunches. The Early Childhood Center hosted over 100 guests during the PK3 & PK4 lunches on Monday, September 9. Several grandparents also joined students for lunch at the secondary campuses on Monday.
Thank you to all the grandparents and special guests who participated in the event. At Hempstead ISD, we appreciate the role grandparents play in a student’s life and we welcome them to participate in activities at our schools. Hempstead ISD...One Town. One Team. One Goal.
SFE served a special meal on Grandparents Day of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and a roll. Logan Emerson-Guerra, a third grader at HES, enjoyed a surprise visit and lunch with his grandparents and great-grandparents.
Over 100 guests joined the PK3 & PK4 students at the Early Childhood Center on Monday for Grandparents Day. Homemade decorations, made by the young Bobcats, adorned the room they dined in.
