Hempstead ISD is applying to receive Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds (ESSER III) to address unfinished learning and COVID-19 recovery. The funds allocated to Hempstead ISD exceed four million dollars. These funds are designated for one-time or short-term expenditures to address the ongoing impact of the pandemic. 80% of the funds must be used to mitigate COVID-related safety concerns. 20% of the funds must be used to remediate lost instruction due to COVID. We are seeking your input about where to allocate these resources. Please take time to let us know your opinion by attending a community meeting:
Parents, students, teachers, staff, board members, and community members may additionally vocalize their wishes by attending a meeting in person at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the Hempstead ISD Central Office Administration Building located at 1440 13th Street, Hempstead, Texas 77445. Thank you for your participation.
