“Heart of a Bobcat” –  New Teacher Academy

The “Heart of A Bobcat” New Teacher Academy is an intensive that helps new teachers foster effective classroom management practices. The Heart of a Bobcat cohort will be provided a campus and district-level mentor. This program will prepare teachers for rigorous teaching standards. Each cohort member will attend a Teaching Instructional Learning Training (TILT) Academic Boot camp. 

 

 

Bobcat Leadership Academy

The Bobcat Leadership Academy is designed to prepare and support school leaders who can transform schools and improve outcomes for all students. The academy is created to increase the leadership efficacy of each participant to ensure that leaders are growing throughout Hempstead ISD. 

The Bobcat Leadership Academy will focus on the following key competencies, skills, and insights:

  • Leading and Managing Others
  • Aligning Vision, & Goals
  • Communicating Effectively
  • Influencing & Empowering
  • Developing People
  • Creating a Sustainable Learning Culture

 

Academy Requirements 

Interested candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • At least one year of credible teaching experience

  • A minimum of Proficient on your last T-TESS evaluation

  • Approval from your campus principal

  • A commitment to meet monthly
