Hempstead ISD Teacher Incentive Allotment
The TIA is a program created by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3 to provide increased compensation for our most effective teachers and to help attract and retain highly effective teachers at traditionally hard-to-staff schools. TIA will aid in improving student outcomes, retaining excellent teachers, and attracting high-quality talent to the district through the implementation of a Local Optional Teacher Designation System (LOTDS) that measures teacher effectiveness, rewarding and recognizing the most high-impact teachers for their excellence

Ultimately, the goal of TIA is to put children at the forefront by supporting districts by recruiting, retaining, and rewarding highly effective teachers.
Recruit: Secure teachers for priority schools or grade bands
Retain: Keep effective educators in the classroom
Reward: Ensure top teachers who become designated are rewarded with additional compensation
