During the 2022-2023 school year, Hempstead ISD will begin the strategic planning process. Decisions made through this process will help the DIstrict offer the best educational opportunities possible for all students. This work will guide the future of the District.
There are six components to the strategic planning process — identifying core beliefs, defining the mission and vision of the district, developing goals, objectives, strategies, and an action and implementation plan. The final plan will include guiding principles to ensure growth in all aspects of the district going forward.
“The five-year strategic plan will help build a roadmap to the future of Hempstead ISD,” Hempstead ISD Superintendent Herbert O’Neil explained. “Not only is it important to define who we are as a district, but also how we transform Hempstead ISD into a district that prioritizes instruction to prepare students for their future.”
Throughout the process, focus groups will be held with various stakeholder groups, including Hempstead ISD staff, students, parents, and community members. The district will seek the voices of all perspectives throughout the community.
The beginning phases of this plan are already underway. In the coming months, the District will provide more information about how stakeholders can participate in the planning process later this school year.
