Hempstead ISD to Host 'Tu Hablas, Yo Escucho' to Connect With Spanish-Speaking Families

Hempstead ISD will host 'Tu Hablas, Yo Escucho' from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, in the Hempstead ISD Board Room, 1440 13th St. This community feedback and engagement session will be hosted by Hempstead ISD Director of Bilingual and ESL Services, Margarita Paramore, and delivered fully in Spanish.

The event is an extension of Superintendent Herbert O'Neil's You Talk, I Listen series to hear from the community, connect with families and staff, and make meaningful changes for Hempstead ISD students. The event will provide an opportunity for the District to connect with Spanish-speaking families and community members.

The district is targeting Spanish-speaking families to ensure key messages and information are reaching families and students.

“I want to provide an opportunity to hear from all of our Hempstead ISD parents, so we can do what is best for students,” Superintendent of Schools, Herbert O’Neil, said.

This fall, Superintendent O’Neil hosted two of his You Talk, I Listen series to capture feedback from Hempstead ISD parents, staff, students, and community members.

As the District continues work to reimagine Hempstead ISD, parents/guardians and community members will have an opportunity to provide feedback through collaborative activities during the session.

Those who want to attend can register for the event online. There will be multiple opportunities to participate in the ‘Tu Hablas, Yo Escucho’ community feedback series. Additional sessions will be held throughout the school year.
