Congratulations to the Hempstead ISD volleyball student-athletes who were selected for All-District. Haley Herbert made First Team All-District. Akyrah King and Mariana Venegas made Second Team All-District. Jessyka Melchor, Chloe Uvalle, and Elizabeth Zamora received Honorable Mention. Academic All-District goes to team members who maintained a 90 or above average during the season. Four of the team members received this honor. Mariana Venegas, Jessyka Melchor, Haley Herbert,and Lucero Montero. Academic All-State seniors are Mariana Venegas and Jessyka Melchor. Mariana qualified for Second Team All-State and Jessyka was an Honorable Mention All-State athlete.
The All-District awards are voted on by the coaches in our district including, Harmony, East Bernard, Boling, Van Vleck, Danbury, Hitchcock and Brazos high schools. All-State is an award is presented to students by Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).
