Hempstead High School hosted an inspiring College and Career Signing Day, where students proudly declared their commitment to pursue higher education, trade school, military service, or workforce options following their high school graduation. The event, filled with excitement and anticipation, showcased the remarkable achievements of the Class of 2023 and their aspirations for a bright future.
The festivities kicked off with a warm welcome speech by Hempstead High School Principal, LaKesha Morgan, who emphasized the significance of the students' decisions to embark on a positive path beyond high school. Morgan commended the students for their dedication, hard work, and determination, highlighting the incredible milestone they were about to achieve.
Hempstead High School Theatre Director, Gabriel Arias, announced the names of the College and Career Day Signing Day seniors, representing a diverse range of future plans. Each senior made a grand entrance by walking through the inflatable Bobcat, symbolizing their connection to Hempstead High School, and approached a table adorned with balloons and Class of 2023 decorations. The students signed their commitment to a two-year college or four-year university, trade school, or workforce option accompanied by a certification, or enlistment in the military upon graduation.
The event was organized by the Hempstead ISD staff members who are part of the Bobcat Aspiring Leadership Academy. Their goal was to celebrate the accomplishments of the senior students. It provided a platform for students to share their ambitions and inspire their peers, fostering a sense of community and support as they embark on their chosen paths.
