Hempstead Middle School and Hempstead High School Beta Club recently competed in the Texas State Beta Convention at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas on Feb. 1-2, 2024. Beta is a service club. Students are chosen to participate based on their GPA and discipline record.
The students competed against close to 3,000 Beta Club members from across the state of Texas. There were 27 event categories and 56 total events. Categories included academics, performance art, visual arts, robotics, engineering, technology, quiz bowl, musicology, spelling bee and more. The top five places will advance to Nationals this summer in Savannah, Georgia.
