The Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved pay raises for all employees during the May 20 Board meeting.
All employees will receive a 5% raise for the 2024-2025 school year.
“It is important to stay competitive in recruiting and retaining high-quality teachers and staff to support our students and prepare them for their future,” Hempstead ISD School Board President, Connie Wawarofsky said.
Despite challenges due to the increasing cost of living, Hempstead ISD is committed to prioritizing its staff members by providing them with this significant raise.
“I am grateful for our School Board’s extreme focus on improving student outcomes and doing what is best for our staff members in Hempstead ISD,” Superintendent Herbert O’Neil said. “Implementing this pay increase acknowledges the dedication and commitment of our teachers, support staff, and administrators who play a crucial role in the success of our students.”
