The Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, November 18.
Before the start of the November board meeting, Hempstead Early Childhood Center Pre-K students led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Pledge to the Texas Flag. During the meeting, the November Students, Campus Teachers, and Support Staff of the Month were celebrated.

The November Superintendent’s Higher Heights Award Recipient is Anna Davenport, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent.
Information Items
Hempstead ISD Chief Academic Officer, Emily Vermeulen, presented Strategic Plan Goal 1 updates. Goal 1 focused on ensuring success for all learners. Her updates focused on the role of Tier 1 instruction, Lesson Internalization, and Support from the ESF Grant. She also discussed how teachers and curriculum and instruction staff are focused on tracking student growth.
The December Board meeting will be held on Monday, December 16, and will begin at 6 p.m. in the Administration Building Board Room.
