The Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-2026 academic calendar at the January 23 board meeting. Hempstead ISD students will return to school on Monday, August 25, 2024.
Teachers and campus staff will return on August 13, and teachers who are new to the district will report on August 11 for New Teacher Inservice. Download Calendar in English and Spanish
The scheduled breaks on the calendar are Thanksgiving break from November 24-28; winter break from December 22 to January 2, 2026; and spring break from March 9-13.
The calendar was drafted by the Hempstead ISD District Education Improvement Committee, which collected a variety of data and input from parents and district staff members. The district held a survey for community feedback in early January.
