Hempstead Elementary School is asking for your support to raise awareness of heart disease through its “Kids Heart Challenge.”
The Heart Walk was designed by the American Heart Association to help raise awareness of heart disease. The goal of the walk is to get people up and moving and to promote living a healthier lifestyle. The Hempstead community is invited to come out and walk with Hempstead Elementary students, staff, and families from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, at the Hempstead High School Track, 801 Donoho St. The campus is asking all walkers to wear RED.
During the walk, the campus will be collecting donations for the “Kids Heart Challenge.” The walk will be eight laps around the track, which equals 2 miles. The students that raise $50 or more will have an opportunity to pie Hempstead Elementary P.E. teacher, Coach Camirey Jackson, in the face. You can make a donation today by visiting the Hempstead Elementary Heart Walk website.
