The Hempstead ISD Long-Range Facility Planning Committee met on Tuesday, July 18, to review the district's recent facilities assessment. This group will review the findings from the study, including additional district data, financial forecasts, city and county planning, and campus and department audits, to plan for the community's needs.

The committee is charged with developing prioritized and phased plan facility recommendations to the Board of Trustees. Committee agendas and reports will be posted on the district website to ensure transparency. Workgroups/subcommittees may evaluate specific and targeted strategies or review additional information.

The committee will include various district stakeholders, including teachers, campus staff and administrators, parents, community members, students, and district leaders. Hempstead ISD staff will serve as resources to the committee, providing information and expertise as needed.

“I am truly thankful for the support of our community members who continue to look at all areas of the District to help take Hempstead ISD to Higher Heights,” Superintendent Herbert O’Neil said.

Committee members will meet through the fall of 2023. The committee will make a presentation to the Hempstead ISD Board of Trustees with a recommendation following the completion of their work.
