The Hempstead High School Bobcat Band received straight ones at the October 19 UIL Marching Contest, held at Waller High School. The band and color guard delivered a flawless performance from beginning to end.
After the performance, the students headed back to the school bus to await their results from the judges. The students were surprised to see Hempstead ISD Superintendent Herbert O’Neil holding their trophy. The parking lot roared with cheers and excitement.
The perfect score helped secure the band a spot at the Area Meet on Saturday, October 22. The students will be performing at 2:30 p.m. at Robinson High School Stadium in Waco, TX. If the students make it to the finals they will begin at 7:45 p.m. Bobcat Band supporters can attend the 3A Contest by purchasing tickets online. Admission is $6.50.
