CTE students working with tools

Hempstead High School CTE students were recently invited to tour Daikin North America. Daikin is a leader in air conditioning, with HVAC&R, fluorochemical, and filtration products.

Students from Cy-Fair and Waller high schools were also in attendance to learn about the manufacturing field and career opportunities. The students got a grand tour of the facility and had a chance to learn more about the manufacturing company and participated in demonstrations like screw gun training.

The purpose of the event is to highlight the importance of manufacturing to the United States economy and the opportunities building a career can provide. Throughout the event, students learned about the company and the various career opportunities that they offer.

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event supported by thousands of manufacturers that hosts students, teachers, parents, job seekers, and other local community members at open houses, plant tours, and presentations designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers.
