Hempstead High School freshman, Brianna Padilla, recently represented Hempstead ISD at the Texas FFA State Leadership Development competition, held at Sam Houston State University. Padilla received 6th place in the Greenhand FFA Creed Speaking.
The competition recognizes FFA members for their ability to present the National FFA Creed from memory and answer several questions. The FFA Creed highlights the values and beliefs about agriculture, FFA membership, citizenship, and patriotism.
Padilla made history as the first Hempstead High School student to qualify for state in a FFA Leadership Development Event.
“The amount of support I received from my school and the Hempstead community was very heartwarming. Their support helped me get through state.”
Padilla was celebrated with a state sendoff on campus by the Bobcat Band drumline, her peers, and campus staff.
