Hempstead Independent School District announces that it will continue to offer free meals under the Community Eligibility Provisions (CEP) Program for the 2024-2025 School Year.
The Hempstead Independent School District announced today it will continue its policy to operate the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Schools qualifying to operate CEP serve breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
The Districts participation in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), allows all students at the
Hempstead Early Childhood Center, Hempstead Elementary School, Hempstead Middle School and Hempstead High School Campuses to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch per day without filling out a lunch application. It is necessary that parents fill out a Socio-economic Form. This form will be included in the first day packet.
