Every February, across the country schools celebrate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, highlighting the value of hands-on learning and real-world skills. In classrooms, labs, and workshops, students explore pathways in health sciences, engineering, agriculture, business, and more. Allowing students to gain experience that prepares them for college, careers, military, and beyond.
At Hempstead ISD, CTE Month is a time to showcase the dedication of students and educators who bring these programs to life. Whether through industry certifications, internships, or career fairs, students gain practical skills that lead to lifelong success.
This year, Hempstead ISD is inviting students, families, and the community to see firsthand how CTE programs create opportunities for students. From future welders to aspiring entrepreneurs launching business ideas, the impact of CTE reaches far beyond the classroom.
Join Hempstead ISD for a guided tour of Hempstead High School’s CTE programs on February 13. The tour includes visits to the welding labs, graphic design studio, culinary arts kitchen, and live demonstrations by CTE students. Guests will have an opportunity to meet the teachers who lead the CTE pathways and prepare students for industry certifications, explore partnership opportunities with Hempstead High School, and celebrate student achievements.
