National AP Week 2025

Each year during the first full week of April, school districts across the country come together to recognize the contributions of assistant principals during National Assistant Principals Week. At Hempstead ISD, we are proud to join in this celebration by shining a spotlight on the dedicated leaders who help create positive learning experiences for all students.

Assistant principals play a crucial role in the success of our schools. From overseeing daily operations to supporting teachers and students, managing discipline, leading campus initiatives, and helping implement strategic goals. Their impact reaches every corner of the campus. They are often the unsung heroes who wear many hats, juggling countless responsibilities with a deep commitment to student success.

"I want to take a moment to recognize and thank our Bobcat APs, who work tirelessly for our students every single day," Superintendent Herbert O'Neil said. "Being an AP is often a thankless yet essential role. They handle countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities, provide critical support to students and staff, and keep our schools running smoothly, often without much recognition."

This week, we celebrate the assistant principals of Hempstead ISD—true Bobcat leaders who embody excellence in education and service. Whether they're welcoming students at the front door, facilitating campus safety plans, organizing school events, or stepping in wherever needed, their leadership ensures our schools continue to thrive.

We encourage our staff, students, families, and community members to join us in saying thank you to our assistant principals. A simple note, a kind word, or a moment of appreciation goes a long way in recognizing the dedication and heart they bring to their work.

Happy National Assistant Principals Week to all of our Bobcat APs! Your leadership, hard work, and heart do not go unnoticed. You are valued, celebrated, and deeply appreciated.
