The Hempstead Middle School and High School Bands will host an Instrument Drive for band families to obtain instruments and supplies needed for the upcoming school year. All beginning band students are required to purchase a book for the class, which will be available at the drive. The schools will provide larger instruments (Tuba, Baritone, and French Horn) for student use but parents are required to provide a mouthpiece for the instrument. Students will not share mouthpieces.
The smaller instruments (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, and Trombone) should be provided by the parent. This can be done by rental or purchase. The String and Horn Shop in Bryan, TX will be at the drive for parents’ convenience to obtain the instruments and supplies needed for their child.
